Pakka

Designing impactful packaging for a fair trade snack brand.

“Happy nuts taste better.” That’s not just a slogan, it’s the philosophy behind Pakka, a Zurich-based Fair Trade and organic producer working directly with farming families at the source. By guaranteeing stable, above-average incomes, Pakka supports better livelihoods and a more sustainable food system. A brand worth believing in.

As Pakka’s product range grew, they needed a designer who could expand their visual identity without losing what made it special. I developed new packaging designs across their full range of nut-based products, each staying true to the existing brand while giving every product its own distinct character.

A highlight of the project was the custom-illustrated Pakka animal, a playful, recognisable character that brings personality to the shelf and makes each pack instantly ownable.

Packaging design is where everything converges: visual storytelling, clear communication, regulatory requirements and production constraints. It demands precision and creativity in equal measure. Working on Pakka was a reminder of why that challenge is worth it, when the brand stands for something real, the design has to as well.
